| The first meeting of the Lewis County Chamber of
Commerce Board of Directors was held last week and officers of the Chamber were elected. Jerry
Ugrin was chosen Chairman, Dennis Brown was chosen vice-chairman, Eric Bloomfield was
named Treasurer, and Judy Applegate was named Secretary. Other members of the board are
E.V. Holder Jr., Craig Stanfield, Todd Ruckel, Harvey Denham and Kenny Clark.
Members of the board scheduled the regular monthly board meetings for the board
and reviewed the by-laws of the Chamber.
Board members also discussed initiating a membership drive, creating a web site
and installing a telephone line for the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce. |
Members also discussed whether or not politicians who
are members of the Chamber would have voting rights. It was determined that politicians
would not have the right to vote on Chamber matters. Members also
handled some general housekeeping items.
The next meeting of the board of directors will be held next week to formally
adopt the by-laws and review information and proposals for 2001.
